ARMHS Treatment Supervision Plan Policy

Availability of Treatment Supervisor:

  • Available Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm, excluding holidays.
  • Weekend appointments for in-person or video calls.
  • Always available by phone for urgent consultations.

Supervision Requirements:

  • Monthly meetings with supervisor for all staff.
  • Mental health practitioners and certified peer specialists receive treatment supervision based on a written plan, covering:
    • Review and evaluation of interventions.
    • Alternative strategies for clients not achieving goals.
    • Review of assessments, plans, and notes.
    • Cultural considerations in treatment.
    • Competency evaluation and feedback.
    • Skills coaching and practice.
  • Supervision conducted in person, by phone, or video, allowing for immediate feedback.
  • Separate supervision for staff serving clients from multiple license holders.

Treatment Supervision Plan:

  • Developed by supervisor and supervisee, reviewed annually, implemented within 30 days for new staff.
  • Includes:
    • Names and qualifications of supervisee and supervisors.
    • Frequency of supervision.
    • Supervisee’s scope of practice (client population, service responsibilities, treatment methods).

Documentation:

  • Includes date, time, supervision type, clients discussed, documentation review, coaching/teaching, and supervisor signature.

Clinical Trainees:

  • Can provide various services under supervision but cannot supervise others.
  • Must adhere to practice act requirements.

MHRW Supervision:

  • Direct observation at least twice per month for first 6 months, then monthly.
  • Monthly individual supervision and bi-monthly observation for MHRWs qualified based on language fluency.

Program Supervision Review:

  • Monthly meetings for directing clinical trainees or MHPs to review program needs, staff observations, training, quality assurance, and consultation.

Additional Supervision for Clinical Trainees/MHPs:

  • Monthly supervision to address population needs, program effectiveness, staff training, and quality improvement.
